All-In or Fold Pot Limit Omaha (AoF PLO) is a fast, high-adrenaline version of Pot Limit Omaha, designed for players who want immediate action and simplified decisions while still enjoying the structure of Omaha.
Like standard PLO, each player receives four private cards (“hole cards”), and there are five community cards placed face-up on the table that everyone can use to build their best five-card hand.
The main difference:
In AoF PLO, you only have two choices:
- Go All-In with your entire stack, or
- Fold and wait for the next hand.
There is no calling, checking, or partial betting in this format.
The goal is the same: Win chips by having the best five-card hand at showdown or by making all opponents fold.
How to Play All-In or Fold Pot Limit Omaha (AoF PLO)
Blinds
Two players post forced bets:
- Small Blind
- Big Blind
These create an initial pot to encourage action in each hand.
Dealing Hole Cards
Each player is dealt four private cards face down, which only they can see.
Decision Point: All-In or Fold
Unlike standard PLO, there are no gradual betting rounds.
On your turn, you only decide:
- Go All-In pre-flop with your entire stack,
- Or Fold your hand immediately.
If you fold, you wait for the next hand.
The Flop, Turn, and River
If two or more players go all-in, the dealer reveals the five community cards in stages:
- Flop (3 cards face up)
- Turn (1 card face up)
- River (1 card face up)
There is no further betting; the board simply runs out automatically, and the best five-card hand wins the pot.
How Do You Form a Hand?
Like standard PLO:
- You must use exactly 2 of your 4 private cards.
- You must use exactly 3 of the 5 community cards.
This Omaha-specific rule is essential for hand evaluation.
Example of a Hand Played Out:
- Blinds are posted.
- You receive A♠ K♠ Q♦ J♦ (a strong starting hand).
- You decide to Go All-In pre-flop.
- An opponent calls your All-In with 9♣ 9♦ 8♠ 7♠.
- The board comes:
- – Flop: 10♠ 3♦ 2♠
- – Turn: 5♠
- – River: 4♣
- You reveal your A♠ K♠ Q♦ J♦, and your opponent shows 9♣ 9♦ 8♠ 7♠.
- You use A♠ K♠ (hole cards) + 10♠ 3♦ 2♠ (board) to make Ace-high flush, likely winning the pot.
Key Features of AoF PLO
- Fast-paced: Each hand is resolved quickly due to the single decision point.
- High variance: Outcomes are luck-heavy since there is no post-flop strategy.
- Retains Omaha’s four-card dynamic: Players still receive four cards, making starting hand selection important.
- Simple structure: No need to manage bet sizing or post-flop play.
